Terrorists Targeting Tourists - Egypt Govt

After a blast on a tourist bus killed three Korean tourists and their Egyptian driver in the tourist resort city of Taba in the Sinai Peninsula, the government has issued warnings that terrorist groups are targeting tourists.

An Israeli soldier patrols on the Israeli side of the Taba border crossing between Egyptian city and the southern Israeli resort city of Eilat, after at least four people, including three South Koreans were killed, and 13 others injured in a bus explosion.
SIS Chairman Ambassador Salah Abdul-Sadeq:
- After terrorist groups targeted Egyptians, they are now pursuing the people of other countries.
- This criminal act not only affects Egypt, but also has an impact on the world at large, including the Arab and Islamic worlds.
- The hands behind this criminal act will not achieve their goals.
- SIS hopes that international media assume its responsibility in reporting the cowardly acts to which Egypt is being exposed to the entire world.
The State Information Service condemns the terrorist attack against the tourist bus near the Taba checkpoint on Sunday, February 16, 2014 and expresses its condolences to the families of the victims and its wishes for a speedy recovery for the wounded.
In a statement, SIS Chairman Salah Abdul-Sadeq said that these cowardly acts will neither affect Egypt and the Egyptians, nor will it steer them away from achieving the goals of the roadmap and implementing democracy in Egypt
Chairman Abdul-Sadeq said that this criminal act not only affects Egypt, but also has an impact on the world at large, including the Arab and Islamic worlds and said that Egypt was intent on protecting its visitors by all means possible.
He also added that the hands behind this criminal act, whatever or whoever they are, be they individuals, countries or groups will not achieve their goals but will fail and whoever supports, funds, plans or instigates will go down in history as immoral and evil.
Chairman Abdul-Sadeq called upon the representatives of international and local media to report these terrorist acts and assume its responsibility in relaying the true picture of the cowardly acts both Egypt and its visitors from other countries are being exposed to so as to get the world to support us in uprooting terrorism from Egypt and the world
